TOBESOFT Japanese Unit Signs up Former Rival Firm Head as COO

-TOBESOFT strengthens international operations by hiring Japanese software specialist
-Accelerated adoption of “nexacro platform” in Japan expected

TOBESOFT, a leader in user interface and user experience solutions for business customers, said on August 11 that its Japanese unit NEXAWEB JAPAN appointed Kazumi Nagai, the former president of a rival firm, as chief operating officer. Mr. Nagai will be responsible for operational affairs of NEXAWEB JAPAN.

Mr. Nagai is famous for launching a successful software firm, a rare success case in Japan, and developing “Biz/Browser,” the UI product for business clients. NEXAWEB JAPAN expects his appointment to accelerate the company’s rise in the enterprise UI-UX market.

Kim Young-hyun, president of NEXAWEB JAPAN, said, “Mr. Kazumi Nagai began his career as a software developer and has assumed a variety of positions from software quality assurance to system integration. He is also a successful businessman with experience in top management positions including former president of our archrival AXISSOFT, currently Open Stream.” He added that his industry experience and business know-how would help enormously in expanding the customer base for its “nexacro platform” in the Japanese market. The partner firms in Japan are also excited about Mr. Nagai’s appointment and have strengthened relationships with NEXAWEB JAPAN.

Kazumi Nagai, the new COO, said, “As in everything else in Japan, decisions to introduce a new system platform in large corporations are determined entirely by human relationship and trust in personal integrity. Although product quality is something taken for granted, how you communicate it depends critically on human factors. I will do my best to contribute to the business growth of NEXAWEB by responding proactively to the demands of customers and partner firms for our mutual growth,” he added.

All three firms of TOBESOFT, Nexaweb Technology, and AXISSOFTbegan their business in the early 2000s with distinct enterprise UI and UX offerings. All three firms are gradually converging on nexacro platform that supports RIA and HTML5 environments simultaneously while seeking to be OSMU (One Source Multi Use). TOBESOFT is confident that this trend will continue with the aggressive expansion of business in Japan and other international markets
