Tobesoft: “For Enterprise UI/UX Development, Low-Code and No-Code Are More Effective Than Vibe Coding”

Lee Woo-cheol, Head of Research at Tobesoft Future Technology Research Institute

AI-powered UI solution ‘Nexa AI’ supports efficient and stable development

Lee Woo-cheol, Vice President and Head of Research at the Future Technology Research Institute of Tobesoft, stated in a recent interview with Digital Times that the company is strengthening its strategy for addressing UI/UX development demands through its own differentiated approach to artificial intelligence (AI).

While “vibe coding”—software development using generative AI and natural language prompts—is rapidly gaining popularity, Tobesoft is focusing instead on AI-powered low-code and no-code (LCNC) development platforms that have already been validated in enterprise environments. The company believes this approach delivers superior efficiency and accuracy for software development.

Lee explained, “Since fully introducing AI technologies in 2024, we have focused not simply on creating tools that write code on behalf of developers, but on developing technologies capable of controlling and managing the entire development environment. Since the end of last year, we have begun actively targeting the market with solutions implementing these technologies.”

Tobesoft is particularly emphasizing structured UI/UX development methodologies based on LCNC technologies. In enterprise projects conducted in the form of large-scale system integration (SI), the company believes that stable management of the entire development lifecycle is more critical than improving individual productivity through vibe coding alone.

Lee stated, “In large-scale application development projects involving many personnel over long periods, vibe coding may initially accelerate development speed. However, over time, inconsistencies can arise, potentially lowering code quality and increasing maintenance risks.”

He added, “To simultaneously improve productivity and stability, we are advancing low-code technologies capable of managing screen structures, data flows, and business logic through explicit models and architectures. This provides a much more suitable environment for AI to understand and manage entire projects.”

In December of last year, Tobesoft launched ‘Nexa AI,’ a development solution incorporating these technologies. Nexa AI enables one-stop automated development workflows through natural language input during UI development. The platform’s key strength lies in increasing development speed while maintaining consistent quality standards.

Lee also noted, “Unlike competitors that mainly focus on the financial sector, we have expanded into manufacturing, service industries, and public institutions, securing more than 10,000 references since our launch.”

Tobesoft is also preparing to introduce a next-generation integrated development platform in May. Lee explained, “We plan to organically integrate previously fragmented areas such as UI/UX development, operations and management, and AI-based development support into a single unified platform.”
