receives the Steel Tower Industrial Medal in 2013 Korean IT Innovation Awards.

TOBESOFT (CEO Kim Hyeong-gon, www.tobesoft.co.kr), a specialist in business UI/UX, announced on November 27 that Song Hwa-joon, head of the research center of TOBESOFT, received the Steel Tower Industrial Medal in 2013 Korean IT Innovation Awards, held at the AT Center in Yangjae-dong, Seoul on the morning of November 27 for his contribution to new IT technology development and convergence.
Mr. Song Hwa-joon, head of the research center, is the 1st-generation IT expert who oversaw the design, implementation, and successful commercialization of 'ToInB Web Enterprise,' a web application server that introduced the concept of the Web Application Server and the Smart Client for the first time in Korea. In particular, he has unrivaled technology in the business UI/UX area whose growth potential is highly rated around the world.
As a founding member of TOBESOFT, he has been serving as head of the research center, and leading the development and technology innovation of 'My Platform,' the No. 1 product in the business UI/UX market, and ‘Xplatform.’ These products acquired a number of patents and quality certifications in areas related to web applications and RIA. Their technology is widely recognized in domestic and overseas markets including Japan, Southeast Asia and the US.
Recently, as the technology supervisor of the Ministry of Science, ICT & Future Planning's WBS (World Best Software) project for enhancing the competitiveness of the domestic IT industry produced excellent results in product R&D, which will lead the global market and contribute to the promotion of Korea's IT industry. Having received the award, Mr. Song Hwa-joon, head of the research center, said, “As it is a great honor for me and the company, I will continuously contribute to the development and diffusion of IT convergence technology by creating a healthy ecosystem for the domestic IT industry and reinforce the cooperation among those working in the industry.”
In the 『Korean IT Innovation Awards』, people in the industry, universities and research institutes who contributed to improving the global competitiveness of the domestic industry and created jobs by leading IT convergence, e.g. R&D activities, and who made contributions to the industrial and national development and establishment of policies will be recommended, evaluated and selected to receive the awards. It is hosted by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy and supervised by the National IT Industry Promotion Agency.
